Alex Speaks is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to helping San Francisco Bay Area schools that are dealing with autism on a daily basis while raising awareness to the causes and treatments for this silent disease.
Founded by Dr. Bernardo D.Gonzalez III in 2004, shortly after his son was diagnosed with autism, Alex Speaks hosts an annual fundraiser in conjunction with the writers of the book, “Voices of Latin Rock” to create awareness for autism and raise funds. These shows have featured some of the most legendary voices of Latin Rock, including Carlos Santana, Malo, Shelia E., Tierra, Los Lobos, Sly Stone, The Family Stone, Taj Majal, Booker T. Jones, and many others.
The next show at the historic Bimbo’s 365 Club will be
on Thursday Jan 15, 2015. This will be the 10th Annual “Voices of Latin Rock” Autism Awareness Benefit. Please call 415 285 7719 or write to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. We hope to see you at the show this year.
Since the first show back in 2004, the numbers of incidence of autism have risen from 1 in 166 to 1 in 88. Please join us in our fight against autism, by going to our donation page.
